Introduction

The introductory article presents a series of materials from the scientific conference «Proceedings of the scientific conference «Topical problems of archaeology of the forest zone of Eastern Europe in the Great Migration and Ancient Russian periods» (Moscow, November 29-30, 2023). The meeting was dedicated to the anniversary of the Doctor of Historical Sciences, leading researcher at the Department of archaeology of the Great Migration period and the Early Middle Ages at the Institute of Archaeology, RAS, Inna Vasilyevna Islanova.
