Problems of choice and application of electric generators for wind power installation

The electric generator is one of the main elements of the electrical equipment of a wind power installation (WG). In addition to the main purpose, the electric generator must perform certain functions of stabilization and regulation of parameters characterizing the quality of the generated electricity. In the last decade, the rapid development of unconventional power generation has provided a wide range of electric generators for wind turbines of various modifications and characteristics. The article proposed methods for selecting an electric generator for wind turbines, and also describes the characteristics of the main types of electric generators for wind turbines currently produced, their drawbacks and modifications.
