Selection of the areas for siting of industrial enterprises engaged in advanced refining of arctic mineral resources in the Northwest of Russia

The article deals with the necessity of siting of industrial enterprises engaged in advanced refining of Arctic mineral resources in the Northwest of Russia to overcome depressive trends of the macro-regional development. The main regions for the siting of the enterprises for oil and gas refining are outlined. When selecting the industrial areas in compliance with the economic interests, it is necessary to carry out the audit of economic efficiency of the offered projects, where the main tool is determination of comparative economic performance of the suggested options.
