Selection of transport device for supplying seeds to the pre-sowing treatment

Improving the technology of pre-sowing seed treatment is one of the priority areas for the development of the crop growing sector of agricultural production in Russia. Modernization of existing machines and development of new technical devices reducing or completely eliminating seed damage in the process of preparation for sowing is an urgent scientific problem. The Azov-Black Sea Engineering Institute continues research work for the creation of a modular mobile complex of equipment that protects seeds from damage when preparing for sowing. The next stage of research in this direction is the development of a transport device for supplying seeds from a storage location to the grain crops seed treater for treatment with chemical or biological preparations. The belt, screw, plate, bucket, scraper, pneumatic and hydraulic conveyors are the most popular conveyors among agricultural producers. Analysis of the research results of scientists and information received from crop producers shows that the most traumatic for seed material are screw and bucket working parts of transporting devices. The danger of seed damage is a significant reduction in their ability to further grow and develop, which is the cause of future crop losses. The patent search resulted in selecting the structures closest in technical features. There has been determined a future loading and transporting device with shock-absorbing elements with a variable angle of inclination. Polypropylene was decided to be used as a material for the manufacture of some elements of the conveyor-loader, as it is the most suitable material for its antifriction properties. The requirements for the technical device being developed for loading and transporting seed material from the pile into the mixer-incrustrator are formulated.
