Choosing a coursebook for Unified State Exam preparation in English

The article is devoted to the analysis of working with the Macmillan Publishers Ltd. learning and teaching kits “Optimise” and “Gateway” (level B2), developed according to the USE format and designed to the USE preparation in English. The article analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of these learning and teaching kits and offers options of additional materials for the USE preparation in English of secondary school students. We can make a conclusion on the basis of the analysis, that mentioned above learning and teaching kits are correspond to the USE format, have varied contents of grammar and vocabulary. However, it should be said to go through all topics of the codificator, additional materials should be used.
