Elections and competition: identity and distinction (comparative analysis of American and Russian political experience)

The article studies causal bases determining competitive nature of presidential elections in the USA and the lack of it in the presidential elections in Russia. According to the authors, the competition in the USA and the lack of it in Russia can be explained by different structure of ruling class and political elite in these countries.
