One of the top matters of mass-scale physical culture is to pass successfully the qualification tests of the Ready for Labour and Defence physical culture training programme. On June 11, 2014 the Regulations on the All-Russian Ready for Labor and Defense physical culture training programme (abbreviated as GTO) were approved by the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation. One of the tasks of this document is to involve as many citizens as possible in engaging regular physical activity and sports. The authors conducted a survey among teachers of a school in the Udmurt Republic to take their opinion on the importance of passing the qualification tests of GTO. The results showed that the physical health of teachers is not at an adequate level, they pay a little attention to the physical training and sports, i.e. they are not interested in their health. Only 8.1% of respondents would like to try passing the GTO standards. To involve millions of people into the physical culture movement certain motivation is needed. In the authors’ opinion, the main result is considered to be the inclusion people in practicing regular physical activities and the improvement of the physical health of Russian people.
