Identification of the Relationship Between Adolescent Social Anxiety and the Level of Communication

The article examines the relationship between social anxiety and the level of sociability in adolescence. Social anxiety disorder, fear of social interaction, fear of negative evaluation, and social avoidance create obstacles to normal social adaptation and personal growth of the adolescent. The features of the manifestation of anxiety in situations of social contact are highlighted. The authors present the results of an empirical study conducted using the methods “Short scale of fear negative assessment”, ‘Social scale of avoidance and distress”, test “Assessment of level of sociability”. Using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, a high relationship between social anxiety and the level of sociability in adolescence was determined.
