Upper class": interpretation of the category in classical theories of sociology

Theoretical and methodological analysis of the foreign sociological studies concerned with the upper class is relevant due to several reasons: demand for a single theoretical approach to the category of “upper class" and insufficient scientific understanding of its essential characteristics. Summarizing the international experience of the upper class study, this analysis aims to develop a full conception of this category, its identification criteria and social functions.
