In recent years, Russia has seen a notable increase in interest in Old Belief as a unique custodian of traditional Russian culture and spiritual values. This public in-terest has found a responsive audience in the museum sector: over the past few years, dozens of thematic exhibitions have been organized and held at various exhibition venues across the country. In Irkutsk alone, four such exhibitions have taken place since 2019. The organization of these exhibitions is typically preceded and accompa-nied by scholarly research, the intensity of which often decreases after the opening of the exhibition. The large-scale exhibition Old Belief — a Chest of Traditions, held from March to October 2023 at the N. N. Muravyov-Amursky Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, incorporated a significant scientific component not only during its preparation but also throughout its duration. As a result, a series of research articles was published, along with a com-prehensive annotated catalog of the museum’s Old Believer collection. In addition, the collection was substantially enriched with new artifacts.
