The article deals with the state of traditional religious associations in modern Russia. New trends can be observed in the diverse religious life of modern Russia. First of all, such a movement as religious ecumenism, the idea of which is to unite all Christian confessions, is becoming more and more widespread. In the context of this idea, there are other similar movements trying to overcome traditional differences in beliefs and create some universal teachings with elements of Christianity, Islam, Judaism and other both world and non- traditional faiths. Secondly, the religious life of Russia is characterized by the mass appearance of foreign preachers and representatives of various non-traditional religions for Russia and their very active proselytizing activities. Modern religious and confessional culture of Russia is very diverse, due to the multinational composition of its inhabitants, both in the past and in the present. Traditional religions in accordance with the preamble of the religious law for Russia are Orthodoxy, Islam, Buddhism and Judaism. Of course, such an emphasis is linked to the historical past of the country, whose destinies are closely intertwined with the religions represented, while the role of other faiths and religious beliefs is not somewhat implicated.
