The interaction of ethnic and language structure in the modern society

In the article the language society of the Russian Federation is considered. It includes the language communities of smaller scale: republics, regions, cities. The less the number of the language community, the higher its language homogeneity. In Russia there are dozens of national languages and their dialects which are in interaction, but in big cities of Russia the general forms of social life are conducted in considerably less number of languages, often in two of them, and if the population is homogeneous, mostly in one language.
