The paper describes the relations between the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the adherents of the Ukrainian autocephalous movement (the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate) in the last decade of the 20th century. These autocephalous religious organizations originated from the autocephalous projects of the first half of the 20th century. The legalization of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the restructuring era coincided with the revival of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Both denominations coexisted on the small territory of Galicia, which led to their serious confrontation in the 1990s. The contradictions between them remain unresolved at present. There have been disputes concerning the ownership of the church buildings in Western Ukraine. These three organizations adhere to the principles of Ukrainian nationalism.
