Mutual relations of power and Russian orthodox church on the eve of celebrating of the 1000th anniversary of Christianization of Russia

The article analyzes the attitude of the Power to Russian Orthodox Church and believers at the initial stage of «рerestroyka», the Russian Orthodox Church position in the second half of 1980-ies is considered, the evolution of state-orthodox relations on the eve of celebrating of the 1000th anniversary of christianization of Russia is characterized, the problems of atheistic propagation in the context of celebrating of this date are revealed, the reflection of the church anniversary in the Soviet mass media is described.
