The article is devoted to researching the statics and dynamics of the national-ethnic composition of the three regions (Tyumen, Nizhny Novgorod and Krasnodar regions) studied within the project of RSF during the last five years (from 2010 till 2014). The author uses data of the territorial authorities of the state statistics, as well as secondary data of sociological studies that had been carried out in those regions. The main aim of the work is to identify the opportunities and constraints of different nations living in the country, in the consolidation of Russian identity on the basis of demographic, ethnic and social factors that reflect the current social and economic processes in the country and beyond it. The main result of the work would be the claim that while taking strategic socio-economic, political and legal projects and programs on the country's development its demographic and ethnic aspects must be taken into consideration.
