The relationship between the immune system state and clinical course of breast cancer patients was studied. The immune system state was presented as an integrated unity using multidimensional data visualization. Differences in the immune system state between disease-free breast cancer patients 3 years after diagnosis and patients with hematogenic metastases occurred within this follow-up period were found. These differences were observed at all stages of the investigation: at diagnosis, during cancer treatment and after its completion. Immune system function as a complex of various simultaneous reactions provides cancer resistance of the organism not only on the effecter but also on the regulatory levels. The immune system state is able to be changed towards favorable clinical outcome in breast cancer patients by cancer treatment. The immune system assessment before, during and after cancer therapy can be used as an additional breast cancer prognostic criterion.
