Correlation between indicators of a three-dimensional scan of the spine, body composition and stabilometry in weightlifters with supreme sports skills

Modern training physical actions in weightlifting have a major impact on the musculoskeletal system, the composition of the body and postural characteristics, spine projection of athletes. Multifunctional and metabolic changes include integrative holistic activity of the body, starting with the central nervous system and ending with the cellular level of adaptive-compensatory changes. The successful sports performance is provided by the integrative activity of functional systems of the weightlifter’s body. The study used computer stabilometry, an ultrasound scan of the spine, impedance diagnostics of body composition, noninvasive analyzer of physiological and metabolic state, electroencephalography, electromyography. Survey involved 12 athletes aged 19-23 with the following levels of sports qualification: MS, MSIC, winners of international tournaments, champions of Europe, the World. The survey was conducted at the final stages of preparation for socially important competitions. We have identified and interpreted the basic correlation between the performance of the musculoskeletal system, the composition of the body and postural characteristics, the projection of the spine of athletes, thus enabling further correction of physical action training for successful sports performance. Integrative morphofunctional assessment of athletes allows balanced consideration of anatomical and physiological and biomechanical algorithms of individual competitive activity and further correction of such activity and of the state according to the obtained data. Basic weightlifting postures specify the orientation of any segment of the body relative to the gravity vector.
