As a rule, different cultures and peoples have their own unique economic, geographical and ethnic characteristics. At the same time, scientific and technological progress leads to changes in the life and cultural way of life of any people, which directly depend on the degree of its adaptation to new technologies and economic changes. At the same time, the level of infrastructure development in the region of residence also has a significant impact on both the surrounding nature and the lifestyle of local residents. The close geographical proximity of peoples, complemented by the development of transport links, which significantly contributes to their interaction and economic ties, contributes to the transformation of the traditional way of life. The focus of this study is aimed at identifying various types of connections between multiple actors involved in economic, social and environmental processes on the territory of the Sayan Crossroads. The presence of administrative and interstate borders in a given territory is manifested in the emergence of additional complex multi-aspect and multi-vector interaction and mutual influence of participants in the processes. The studied connections have both common fundamental patterns and their own regional and local characteristics, which contributes to a deeper understanding and consideration of many additional factors when planning the sustainable development of the territory. As part of the study, field work was carried out in the Okinsky district of Buryatia, the Todzhinsky kozhuun of Tyva and in the Khankh and Tsagaannur soums of the Khubsugul aimag of Mongolia in 2021-2023. Cultural, educational and family ties have been identified and preliminarily assessed.
