The article examines the interdependence of parameters and indicators of quality of life with threats to national security and analyzes foreign and domestic indicators of quality of life. The author concludes that foreign methods pay much more attention to subjective indicators of satisfaction and socio-political indicators, while Russian ones focus on objective indicators of quality of life. The article observes an averaging effect when calculating the integral indices, when individual indicators with negative values are balanced by individual indicators with positive ones, and emphasizes the importance of subjective assessments of satisfaction with the quality of life, which are a feedback signal for the political system. The author suggests using a five-level scale of threats and opportunities for indicators of the quality of life for the national security system and the matrix «probability of threat-opportunity realization» - «degree of destructive-constructive impact» as a classification criterion. He classifies parameters and indicators of quality of life in accordance with a five-level scale of threats and opportunities for national security, and determines the level of the equilibrium state of threats and opportunities as a benchmark between the crisis and sustainable development.
