For the first time in Russian English Studies Intimacy, the novel of a prominent English novelist and scriptwriter, is under analysis. The novel demonstrates Kureishi's break of post-colonial themes. Here the author speaks on identification of a person - quite a traditional topic of his, on the one hand, and on the other, it makes him closer to the English tradition of both the Literature of self-knowledge and ironical and satirical literary depiction of milieu . The essay shows psychological intensity of the author's narration what is peculiar for the English Literature of the second half of the XX century.
