The 20 th International Symposium (Part One) Suyanggae and Her Neighbors was held in Israel 21-28 June 2015. A body of specialists from University of Haifa and the Zinman Institute of Archaeology headed by Professor A. Ronen supervised it. The activity was supported by numerous research centers and commercial organizations, principally a generous donation by Sara and Avi Arenson, the Institute of Korean Prehistory and the Suyanggae International Symposium Committee (SISEC). The world famous archeological site Suyanggae (Danyang) has undergone ten large-scale explorations since its discovery in 1983. The state government acknowledged significance of this site that abounds a number of occupation layers ascribed to the Paleolithic Age and early Iron Age. It became National Historic Site 398. A satellite museum was opened at the site 26 July 2006. The First International Suyanggae Symposium was held in 1996 and brought the site to the awareness of the international academic community. The twentieth meeting of «Suaynggae family» accumulated archeologists, geologists and anthropologists from Israel, Korea, China, Russia, Poland, USA and Ecuador, reporting their latest work under the aegis of their Israeli colleagues. The group of Professor A. Ronen did their best to provide in-depth information on the great variety of cultural property sites scattered around Israel. Many participants admitted exceptional intellectual and emotional involvement during the week. The high level of the «Suyanggae family meeting» in Israel exceeded all expectations. Part Two of the 20 th symposium will take place in November 2015, now based in the cradle of the original symposium, the Institute of Korean Prehistory.
