The assistance of Soviet youth to the Red Army soldiers during the Great Patriotic War is a relevant issue to be discussed. It is important to study the historical experience of successfully dealing with such complex challenges as public involvement in care about wounded and sick people. These issues become more acute today since hostilities still take place, military personnel and civilians are injured and killed. Along with research and applied value, the study has a deep ethical and humanitarian meaning. Despite the relevance of the topic, researchers have not treated care of Komsomol members about wounded soldiers in much detail. The study focuses on the activities of the Komsomol during the Great Patriotic War. The author demonstrates the scope of work in the field of care and patronage assistance done by Komsomol members in South Ural hospitals. Besides, the research reveals the role of the Komsomol in supplying hospitals with food, medical equipment and personnel, medicinal plants.
