The forgotten hero of the Caucasian war

Caucasian War entered many glorious pages in Russian military history. The names and exploits of soldiers and commanders in this region are broadly described by the pre-revolutionary historians. N. P. Slepczoff was one of the legendary persons of the Separated Caucasian Corps, whose activities contemporaries and descendants valued very high. But in Soviet historical science, because of changes in ideology and purposes of investigations, they expressed the negative attitude to Russian armys participation in the Caucasian War. The name of Slepczoff became completely forgotten. This article is one of few modern attempts to restore justice with reference to one of the glorious sons of our Motherland.
