Challenges of forest management at the reconstruction of Tatarstan Republic

Approximately 17% of the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan covered with forests. According to the state research of the 1800 year, about 54% of the regionʼs territory was occupied by forests. The purpose of the research was to reveal the features of the arrangement of forests growing in the Republic of Tatarstan and in the Middle Volga region. Standard methods of route and stationary forest research were used in the work. The increase in the area of forests in the region is part of the modern tasks of forestry. In order to improve the efficiency of forestry, it is essential to significantly improve the quality of forest management planning. It is necessary to improve the qualitative indicators of the composition and age structure of the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan. The article lists priority tasks for improving the quality of forests in the region. It is pointed out the need to develop normative documentation regulating the reconstruction of the forest fund in the current conditions of forest management. Attention is paid to the effective planning of forest management activities in order to improve the quality of forests in the region. Reconstruction of the forest fund assumes a radical improvement of the quality indicators of forests. The ecological significance of the reconstruction of forests of the Tatarstan is noted. Forest management is obliged to take an active part in the development of a modern typology of anthropogenic forests. The forest-forming process under the conditions of anthropogenic impact has far diverted the damaged forests in different directions (rows) of their recovery-age development. Classification of forest types must correspond to their current state. The situation of all modern forests in the genetic series of development, the degree of their stability, disturbance the forest science are not known enough and should be reseach.
