Marriage in modern Russia: some features of legal regulation

In the modern Russian state, the family, according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, is under the state protection. To exercise this kind of protection is necessary from the moment of marriage, as imperfect law regulation in this sphere, associated with disorder of the content of notions “good reasons” and “special circumstances”, as well as absence of clearly determined lower limit of marriage age, can predetermine short term of family relations and divorce. Some legal norms, in their turn, related to the divorce process, also need to be reviewed. As for measures contributing to the strengthening of family and marriage, the author offers to make amendments into the Family Code of the Russian Federation. Such measures would order the process of getting married for good reasons and avoid legal collisions, while applying norms of federal and regional legislation; she also offers to undertake any actions in order to save the family if a couple wants to dissolve the marriage in a judicial proceeding.
