The Conclusion of the International Expert Examination by the International Association of Russian Advocates on the Issue of Arbitrary Deprivation (Termination) of the Pavel Petrovich Ivlev`s Advocate Status

In conclusion of the International Expert Examination which was organized by International Association of Russian Advocates, materials on the termination of the status advocate of Pavel Petrovich Ivlev (Moscow City Bar Association, Russian Federation) are examined. The decision to terminate the advocate status of Pavel Petrovich Ivlev’s was made on the basis of the provisions of subparagraph 4 of paragraph 1 of Article 17 of the Federal Law «On Advocacy and the Legal Profession in the Russian Federation» in connection with the verdict against him on finding him guilty of committing an intentional crime. As a result of the research conducted on the basis of the submitted documents, including the materials of the criminal case, the verdict of the court, complaints against it, the totality of the provisions of the legislation on advocacy and the Bar in the Russian Federation, corporate acts and taking into account the provisions of international standards in the field of human rights and lawyer profession, it is concluded that arbitrary deprivation (termination) of Pavel Petrovich Ivlev’s advocate status.
