Legislative and representative branches of power in relation to network political communication of authority and society

The author presents an analysis of the list of deputies and the results of the legislative activity of the 7th convocation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in terms of network political communication between the authorities and society. The data for the study were found in publicly available biographical information about the deputies, the state database of legislative activity, as well as the results of sociological surveys of the population. The deputy plays an important institutional role in the process of communication between the authorities and society, as it is at the same time part of various social networks and part of the networks of power relations. By virtue of his position, the deputy is a “switch” between the communication networks of society and the state. There is an imbalance in the Russian legislature towards affiliation with the interests of the executive branch of government, which blocks the representative function of the State Duma.
