A technique for treatment of victims with gun-shot combined injuries of magistral vessels and bones has been worked out experimentally using 15 adult mongrel dogs, both males and females. The technique consists in radical primary debridement of gun-shot wound, the Ilizarov fixator application, temporary limb shortening, connection of arterial ends and subsequent restoration of the length of the segment involved. It is demonstrated that while filling gun-shot defects of femoral arteries and bone after femoral gun-shot injury in the period of distraction and up to the half of fixation period hypercoagulation and fibrinolysis inhibition was noted, tension of magistral arteries in this limb segment increased, peripheral resistance decreased in reflex-like way at the expense of dilatation of resistive vessels due to arteriovenous anastomoses opening.
