"Notes of the provincial bishop": the integration of the orthodox priesthood into a social network

The article is devoted to one of the pages of the activity of Savvatii, the ruling Bishop, Metropolitan of Ulan-Ude and Buryat Metropolia, the head of the Orthodox Church in the region. Since his appointment as Bishop in 2009, he has created his blog “Notes of the provincial Bishop”, which has become one of the stages of communication with the “flock”, which addresses topical issues of modern society, the problems of human life. Globalization dictates its own rules in the formation of religious space, the involvement of Church circles, “flock” in the world of information technology, the challenges of the growing digital space, forcing the priesthood to “be” in social networks to determine the atmosphere of attitude to religion, to Orthodoxy and it is possible to understand how monolithic the enclave of Orthodox believers in this region. When the ruling Bishop is a blogger, this is a significant phenomenon in the cultural and religious space.
