The article proposes a methodology for assessing the efficiency of electric charging stations (ECS). The mechanism for generating net profit received by their owners from the sale of services for the transmission of electric energy to traction batteries of electric vehicles is considered. Calculation formulas for establishing costs generated from the operation of charging terminals, as well as reimbursement of investment funds for their acquisition, installation and technological connection to the power supply network are given. The work contains mathematical dependencies that allow calculating revenue from the sale of services for charging wheeled vehicles (WTV) with an electric drive. The methodology makes it possible to determine the minimum required number of electric vehicle connections to the ECS to achieve break-even operation with the given initial parameters: initial cost, installation and commissioning costs, electricity tariff, investment payback period and others. The obtained results of the practical application of the proposed theoretical dependencies are recommended for use in order to verify the economic feasibility of operating ECS of various capacities when forming a charging infrastructure in populated areas of the Russian Federation.
