The article examines foreign indicators used to assess the level and quality of life of the population. Foreign researchers studying the quality of life of the population, as methods for assessing the quality of life, use the system of national accounts, the index of physical quality of life PQLI and its modification PSLI, HDI, the "triangular" index of the welfare of the nation and happiness indices.
