Protection of economic secrecy and Glavlit in 1947

The article presents the problem of protecting economic secrecy in 1947 under the conditions of the Cold War. The purpose and tasks of the article are to determine the specifics of Glavlit’s work and the information that makes up economic secrecy, as well as to determine the objects and subjects of protection against industrial espionage. The research led to the conclusion about the swiftness, timeliness and adequacy of the response of the state acting through its authorized bodies to new challenges and to the changing composition and content of secret information that require protection in the economic field. New documents introduced into scientific circulation allow us to trace the dynamics of development and the coordinated activities of state authorities and the competent state body to protect economic secrecy during the initial period of the Cold War.
