This article shows an analysis of the legislation of the Russian Federation on consumer protection, the concepts and functions of consumer protection are analyzed; the legal status of subjects in the field of consumer protection is characterized. The relevance of this topic is explained by the presence of a "weak" side in the legal relations under consideration - the consumer.
