Defensive effect of tempol in alopecia caused by cyclophosphamide in mice

According to the experimental results, it has been established that 4-Hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-oxyl (Tempol) in case of preliminary injection (in the space of 24 hours) considerably decreases the degree of alopecia caused by cyclophosphamide in mice, in simultaneous injection of Tempol and cytostatic drug similar phenomenon is not observed. Possibility of clinical application of Tempol to prevent alopecia in case of cytostatic therapy is under discussion.
