Honored artist of the RSFSR Idea Alekseevna Erokhina

The publication presents the author’s recollections about I.A. Erokhina (1940– 2001), an opera singer and vocal teacher, the founder of the Academic Singing major at the Choral Conducting Department and the first Head of the Department of Vocal Performance Art of the Samara State Academy of Culture and Arts (currently the Samara State Institute of Culture). The main highlights of her artistic biography are analyzed. The continuity of Russia’s school of vocal art, which I.A. Erokhina belonged to, is shown together with the traditions of bel canto.
