The dependence of the volume of stock on the term of its replenishment in the warehouses of automotive parts

The article provides a study on the management of a warehouse of automotive spare parts. In the current situation in the automotive market of the country due to the sanctions, namely the change in the logistics of delivery of spare parts, the goal was to identify the impact of changes in the timing of replenishment of the warehouse stock on its level. To do this, based on the data of automotive dealer companies, a series of simulation experiments was carried out on a model of a spare parts warehouse. The analysis of the results obtained made it possible to put forward an assumption about the functional relationship between the studied parameters of the automotive spare parts warehouse management system. Further, the article presents the rationale for the identified relationship between the minimum stock (order point) and the delivery time of spare parts to the warehouse. The results of the presented work are of fundamental practical importance, as they allow, by means of the simplest computational actions, to adapt it’s inventory management strategy to constantly changing realities. Despite the identification in the work of such a key parameter of the automotive spare parts warehouse management system as the order point, other important parameters remain undefined, such as the maximum and average stocks. These issues are the focus of further research.
