Land rights of indigenous peoples

The article deals with specific land use indigenous peoples of Russian Federation, including forest land, pasture for reindeer, the legal status of the territories of traditional nature and use of water bodies in places of traditional residence and traditional economic activities of indigenous peoples. Review relevant legislation of the Russian Federation and revealed contradictions. The author concludes that to address them need to make changes to the Land Code of the Russian Federation, Federal Law on Turnover of Agricultural Land and Forest Code of the Russian Federation, envisaging the possibility of granting them lands on the right of free use for indigenous peoples.
