Portrait genre in the art works of Ivan Rybachuk

This article analyzes the portrait genre in the art works of Ivan Rybachuk (1921–2008). The choise of portraits for the analysis is made due to the author’s desire to focus the reader’s attention on the main features of the portrait skills of the artist regardless of the social status of the model, whether it is an artist, actor, fisherman, sailor, representatives of the native peoples of the North. The author concludes that an important advantage of Ivan Rybachuk as an artist is the ability to look into the character of a person portrayed. Like a psychologist, he penetrated into the heart of every portrayed person, finding and reflecting the unique personality of each character of his work.
