Introduction. The article is devoted to the problematic issues of the formation of Russian power structures during feminization processes. The article presents the authors' opinions on the problems and prospects of the service of women in law enforcement agencies, both in Russia and abroad. Methods. Some aspects of the recent past in the formation of the female corps of power structures are considered. An attempt was made to reveal the role and place of women in building modern power structures of a democratic, rule-of-law state. Results. The authors analyze approaches to serving in the power structures in the West and in Russia. The article proves that the global trend of recent decades is the processes associated with the promotion of gender equality. In this regard, the increase in the number of women in the power structures, as a global trend, is the determining factor for changing the gender composition in the power structures of the Russian Federation. In addition, Russian women themselves did not become passive participants in the analyzed processes. Surveys convincingly show their high motivation to serve under the contract. The motivating motives for the applicants are both the material component and the romantic ideas about the service in the power structure.
