Female face of the culture of the Volgograd region

The article is devoted to the analysis of the socio-cultural activities of women in the Lower Volga region in the 20th - 21st centuries using the example of the Stalingrad-Volgograd region. The aim of this article is to identify the role of women in the development of regional culture, various forms of education, cultural protection and cultural and creative activities on the basis of general scientific and historical research methods. The authors examine the role of women in the development of various forms of education, cultural conservation and cultural activities. Volgograd residents are leaders of the search movement and actively work in government bodies. The role of women’s initiatives in the activities of non-profit organizations as a factor in the formation of civil society in Russia is emphasized. The pride of fellow countrymen are Honorary Citizens of the Hero-City of Volgograd - composer A.N. Pakhmutova, poet M.K. Agashina. Women play an important role in the development of artistic creativity in small towns and rural settlements. The cultural heritage of Russia was enriched by the creative works of women artists of the region. Women are the creators of scientific schools for the study of regional cultural heritage, curators of museums and intangible culture. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that socio-cultural initiatives of the weaker sex play an important role in the sustainable development of the region.
