Life values of students and teachers: linguoaxiological research

The article is devoted to the analysis of the value worldview of the collective of students and teachers of the philological faculty in the post-perestroika era, characterized as a “consumer society”. The axiological worldview has undergone a transformation under the influence of social change. We are interested in whether the system of values of Russian speakers of different ages has changed and how it has changed. Against the background of various studies of sociologists, psychologists and culturologists, we prefer the linguoaxiological aspect in the study of values. It is language that is the means of access to linguistic consciousness, a way of its “extinction”. In this direction, experimental methods of investigation are effective. To study linguistic consciousness, it is necessary to take into account that the structure of linguistic consciousness is isomorphic to the human psyche and, accordingly, is divided into the sphere of the conscious and the unconscious, or irrational. The perceived level of linguistic consciousness can be studied through procedures (questionnaires, scales, etc.) that involve deliberate answers to questions and assignments. The purpose of our study is to determine the basic life values of the realized level of linguistic consciousness of students and teachers of Philological Faculty of KSPU named after V.P. Astafiev. It is achieved by questioning and quantitative and qualitative (semantic) interpretation of the obtained data. In the questionnaire “Life Values” in 2017, 89 teachers and students of the first and fifth years of Philological Faculty of Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P. Astafiev participated in the survey. The selected methods and techniques led to the conclusion that about 50 % of the matches (among which are family, health, love) that determine the basis of the mental (conceptual) core of the values of a healthy collective, regardless of age, are found in the choice of the most significant values of students and teachers. The noted discrepancies between the values of groups of students and groups of teachers under the study can be characterized as the age preferences of young people striving for such values as education, friendship, self-improvement, well-being, money. For the generation of teachers, these are moral values such as honesty and kindness.
