Life forms and development of Viola xanthopetala Nakai in ontogeny

Viola xanthopetala is a short rhizomatous-fimbriouse root system herbaceous polycarpic species with the rossette shoot. The spieces is characterized by rosette monopodial way of shooting. Two life forms of V. xanthopetala, varying in the rythms of seasonal development, are revealed: (1) spring-green ephemeroid, finishing its vegetation at the end of May - early June and (2) summer-green plant, vegetating throughout the entire season. Ontogeny of Viola xanthopetala can be split into four periods and eight age stages.
