Company’s life cycle: modeling tools for identifying the growth stage

The article deals with the problem of defining company’s life stages. The authors describe a mathematical model to determine growth stage for a company with the help of regression analysis which is based on statistical data on the financial status of enterprises. A sample of companies includes the most fast growing enterprises in the Russian Federation in 2016 that are considered to be top fifty companies according to RBC (RosBusinessConsulting) ranking. Moreover, the authors prove statistical reliability and validity of this theory by means of F-test, Student’s t-test, analysis of correlation coefficients and determination. In particular, the study provides the possibility of applying this theory to Ilim Group PJSC. It compares the results obtained by using the author’s model and the concept of Victoria Dickinson as well. The described model is an original way to define a company’s life stage. It can be widely used while analyzing financial and economic activities of a company.
