The article examines the scientific heritage of Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor Marina Vladimirovna Zakharchenko, who in the last years of her life was tonsured with the name Alexandra. The logic of the article provides for the initial coverage of the personality of Marina Vladimirovna and her career path. The cornerstone of her creative heritage is the typological interpretation of the concept of tradition and the study of the conceptual foundations of education on the values of the national spiritual (ethno-cultural and religious) tradition. In the concept of spirituality as a peda-gogical category, M. V. Zakharchenko distinguishes two components - anthropological, leading to an understanding of the ontology of a person and the nature of his individual existence, and civilizational, associated with understanding culture, the successive connection of generations, traditions. She made a significant contribution to the development of the pedagogical direction in a non-state educational institution - the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. She participated in the development and implementation of the concept in a completely new at that time (2010) project of the Russian Orthodox Church for the preparation of church choir directors in the field of “Theology” (Bachelor’s program).
