Ground beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) of the Barguzin basin (North-Eastern Baikalia, Barguzin river basin)

The article presents preliminary data on the taxonomic diversity of ground beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) of the Barguzin Basin. Based on literary sources, collected and our own data we compiled a species list of ground beetles of the Barguzin Basin, which includes 123 species from 32 genera. The generic structure of the ground beetle fauna is dominated by species from the genera Bembidion, Harpalus, Carabus, Pterostichus, Amara, Agonum, Nebria, Cymindis. Only 40 species are known for the Dzherginsky Nature Reserve. We identified three species of ground beetles listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Buryatia (2023). Carabus glyptopterus Fischer von Waldheim, 1828 and Lionedya mongolica (Motschulsky, 1850) were recorded in the upper part of the Barguzin Basin in Dzherginsky Nature Reserve, and Panagaeus cruxmajor (Linnaeus, 1758) - in the lower part of the basin. Our results provide a good starting point for further entomological research in Dzherginsky Nature Reserve and the Barguzin Basin.
