The magazine “Upbringing” in history of Russian pedagogical journalism

The magazine «Upbringing» (1857–1863) – one of the first pedagogical journals in Russia. On the range of issues the magazine «Upbringing» covered are included virtually all of the latest educational and training issues of that time. Editor was teacher and writer A. A. Chumikov. The article examines the history, structure, directionality, issues of the journal, basically on material numbers «Upbringing», then available in the Scientific Library Tver State University.
