Corrupt practices of Siberian voivodes: case study of documents of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts

The article deals with problems of voivodes’ (warlords) governance in Siberia in the 17 th century. The authors describe sources showing the facts of corrupt practices of the Siberian governors. On the basis of archival documents this article considers the relationship of the provincial administration with the local population, both the Russians and the indigenous people.
