Importance of physical education in professional work of a modern police officer

The article discusses significance, functions and current issues of the physical training of a modern police officer. The physical training of police officers is defined as one of the major indicators of professionalism and a factor of their safety. Deficiency of human resources motivated for work in the local agencies of the Internal Affairs is explained by the insufficient readiness (both physical and psychological) of young professionals. In the context of the studied subject the author establishes semantic correlation between concepts of “professional security” and “professional safety”.
