The article summarizes and analyzes materials on the use of river pebbles and small stone tiles in the utilitarian and magical purposes of Kolyma Yukaghirs (Oduls). Utilitarian usage of stone was over by the end of the XIXth century, but at the end of the XXth century there still existed recorded memories of names of individual stone products (scrapers, knives) and methods of their manufacture and use. For a long time pebbles continued to be used for magical purposes - as weapons against enemies (in the funeral rites) or as talismans of good luck and wealth. At the end of the XXth - the beginning of the XXIst century people continued to treat them as bearers of special natural forces.
