The meaning and image of the family in the ideas of Russians: intergenerational analysis

This article is devoted to comparing the ideas of different generations of Russians about the importance of family in their lives and about its image. The results of a secondary analysis of data from All-Russian public opinion polls on the topic for 2024 are presented. It has been revealed that, despite the deep respect of Russians of all ages for the traditional institution of the family, the younger generation is gradually moving away from its values. The observed changes in the marital behavior of the population, in turn, have a negative impact on the demographic situation in the country.
